CHUM Television Award for Best Canadian First Feature went to Jimmywork, by director Simon Sauve

Famous Players Award for Best Canadian Feature went to White Skin, directed by Daniel Roby

Star!TV Award for Best Feature Film, Two Great Sheep, directed by Liu Hao of China

Best Short Animation
, Ryan, by director Chris Landreth

Best Short (Live Action) went to Milo 55160 by director David Ostry

The CBC Newsworld Award for Best Documentary, Sneakers by director Femke Wolting.

The Audience Favourite Award was presented to the National Film Board documentary, Being Cariboo by directors Leanne Allison and Diana Wilson.

InVision Award for Best Student Film was presented to director Sarah Rahsad, for her short film Tahara

Mondo Plympton: A Tribute to Bill Plympton
This year the Vic Independent is proud to pay tribute to animation icon Bill Plympton. Mr. Plympton will be in attendance for the screening of "Hair High" his latest feature on Saturday February 12th. There will also be a program of his short films on Friday, February 11th -- both screenings at Cinecenta at the University of Victoria.

Submissions: entry deadline has now passed, we will begin accepting entries for the 2006 program in April 2005.
