Curriculum Specific Screenings at The Vic Theatre

The Victoria Film Festival offers a unique educational experience through curriculum-based screenings at The Vic Theatre in downtown Victoria. Teachers are invited to arrange for a screening of a film for their students throughout the school year. February is a great time to also take advantage of the visiting filmmakers who may attend the screening.

Filmmakers Into Schools

The Festival is looking for teachers interested in having filmmakers visit their classrooms to talk about the experience of creating films. The filmmakers will include writers, directors, composers and producers involved in documentaries, narrative and experimental film.

Our speakers cover a range of topics, all of which promote a critical understanding of how visual media affect our lives. Visits can be designed to fit within the context of classroom schedules and subject areas — literature, art, music, social studies, career planning or language studies.
