May 4, 2017 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Action – Victoria Film Festival Call for Entries Opens on May 10th

It may be months away, but the Victoria Film Festival has officially opened the call for entries for the 2018 season, running February 2-11, 2018.

Winner of MovieMaker Magazine’s ‘Top 50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee’ for the past three years, the Victoria Film Festival’s programming features a selection of films from British Columbia, Canada and around the world.

“I particularly like bringing first-time filmmakers to Victoria, it’s exciting,” says Kathy Kay, festival director, “The audience loves it, but we also get to share in their big screen debuts.”  But wait, there’s more; the Victoria Film Festival also offers feedback on all submitted films, upon request.

The early bird submissions are open until June 23, 2017, regular submissions close on July 28, 2017 and late submissions will be accepted until August 25, 2017. Filmmakers can submit their films through Film FreewayWithoutabox, or Festhome. Only films completed in 2016 or 2017 will be considered, and only digital entries will be accepted

The Victoria Film Festival has seven award categories that are announced on the final day of the Festival. To learn more about the Victoria Film Festival, visit the website.
