Follow the money and the path to prosperity in this documentary recounting the annual mad dash through the Himalayas for a mysterious half-plant half-insect that is said to have magical properties. As precious and expensive as any exquisite truffle, the search and harvest of Nepal’s Yarsagumbu is a gold rush story for the new millennia. Himalayan Gold Rush will be screened at The Mint.

The Mint owner Rajen Shakya will be onsite to demonstrate how to make the perfect handrolled momo – a traditional South Asian dumpling that is native to Tibet. Sample them alongside a cup of Chiya (chai) for a tantalizing treat from the Far East.
