Let’s make a Movie!
Let’s Make a Movie! teaches intro filmmaking concepts to youth (ages 13 – 16). This year the Victoria Film Festival is pleased to be partnering with the This year the Victoria Film Festival is pleased to be partnering with the Greater Victoria Public Library to deliver this fun day for youth filmmakers at the Central Branch
Participants work collaboratively to script, rehearse, shoot, and screen a short film – all in one day! Participants will take different roles in the production phase (sound/camera/cast). The edit will be an instructor led process explaining editing fundamentals. After editing, we screen the film with the group and family members!
The experience is spontaneous and cooperative and provides students with a unique, practical perspective of production. A great place to get your feet wet learning introductory filmmaking concepts and to launch your cinematic creativity!

10-12 concept, storyboard, and script, create shot list
12-1 Lunch (not provided)
1-3:00 Shoot the film

Bio:
Let’s Make a Movie is led by VFF Program Manager Bryan Skinner. Bryan has many years of experience working in independent film and the film industry. As well as many years of involvement at CineVic: Society of Independent Filmmakers, Bryan is a member of the Director’s Guild of Canada (DGC) and has led numerous workshops on various aspects of filmmaking.
