Set in the late 1990s, the film follows eight-year-old Sasha and her Hungarian immigrant family as they relocate to a new home on Vancouver Island. While the family attempts to build a stable life, the peace is increasingly disrupted by the erratic and dangerous behavior of Sasha’s oldest brother, Jeremy. The narrative eventually shifts to an adult Sasha, who revisits these fragments of her past through home videos and memories to process the grief and silence that shaped her family.
